Head Middle School Track & Field Coach

Job Description:

The Middle School Head Track & Field Coach is responsible for introducing and developing
foundational track and field skills while fostering a positive, Christ-centered team culture. This role focuses on athlete growth, skill development, and preparing students for future participation at the varsity level.

From preschool through 12th grade, our Christ-centered programs equip students to achieve excellence in their God-given purposes – in academics, fine arts, athletics, and service in the
community – all while consistently building and cultivating strong character. We want students to leave loving Jesus more than the day they came.

Responsibilities:

Coaching & Instruction:

  • Plan and lead practices focused on fundamentals, skill development, and understanding of
    track and field events.
  • Prepare athletes for competitions in a developmentally appropriate
    manner.

 

Athlete Development:

  • Focus on building foundational athletic skills, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.


Mentoring:

  • Encourage spiritual growth and character development in student-athletes.
  • Model Christ-like behavior and leadership.


Team Management:

  • Organize team rosters, manage equipment, and ensure proper supervision of student-athletes at all times.

 

Communication:

  • Maintain positive and consistent communication with parents, athletes, and school staff.


Program Alignment:

  • Collaborate with the varsity track and field coach to align philosophy and prepare athletes for the next level.


Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all practices and competitions are conducted safely and in accordance with school and league policies.


Role Model:

  • Demonstrate integrity, patience, and encouragement while fostering a love for the sport.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience: Coaching or working with middle school students preferred
  • Skills: Strong communication, organization, and ability to teach fundamentals
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification required
  • Christian Faith: Commitment to the Christian mission and values of the school
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to actively participate in practices and demonstrate
    techniques

This is a stipend position, and the successful candidate will be expected to work evenings and weekends, as required by the team’s schedule.
