Assistant Track Coach

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our track program serving as an assistant coach. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for the sport of track, exceptional coaching skills, and the ability to inspire and spiritually develop student-athletes both on and off the field. This is a position responsible for supporting both middle and high school track programs.

Responsibilities:

Assistant Track Coach

  • Assist the head varsity coach in developing and implementing effective practice plans,
    strategies, and game plans.
  • Provide individualized coaching and instruction to athletes to enhance their skills,
    technique, and IQ.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes sportsmanship,
    discipline, and respect.
  • Attend all team practices, events, and actively contribute to decision-making.
  • Help in athlete evaluation, and selection for competitive events based on performance,
    effort, and teamwork.

 

Player Development:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, fostering personal growth,
    leadership, and character development.
  • Work closely with players to enhance their athletic skills.
  • Help organize skill-specific drills and training sessions to address individual and team
    needs.

 

Program Promotion:

  • Collaborate with the head coaching to organize and participate in community events, fundraisers, and any clinics to promote the program.
  • Support recruitment efforts by attending middle school events, interacting with
    prospective athletes, and conveying the program’s values and opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or college level.
  • Strong knowledge of track techniques, strategies, and rules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with athletes, parents, and coaching staff.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential.
  • Organizational skills to manage practice schedules, event planning, and player
    evaluations.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Availability to attend all practices, games, and team events, including evenings and
    weekends.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Coaching Certifications or relevant coaching education.
  • Playing experience at the high school, college, or professional leve.
