Media & Communications Coordinator
Job Description:
he Media & Communications Coordinator plays a vital role in telling the story of Bethesda Christian School through creative, strategic, and mission-driven communication. This position is responsible for managing and executing social media, visual content, and communication initiatives that reflect the life, culture, and excellence of BCS.
This is a highly dynamic and hands-on role that spans social media, photography, video, graphic design, and communications. Rather than a narrow specialist, the ideal candidate is a versatile, “wear-many-hats” communicator—someone with a strong creative eye, attention to detail, and the ability to execute across multiple platforms and mediums with excellence.
This individual will capture and communicate meaningful moments across campus—from classrooms to athletics to fine arts—while helping drive engagement with both prospective and current families. Working closely with the Director of Community Engagement and school leadership, this role contributes to marketing campaigns, storytelling, and brand consistency across all platforms.
The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, and passionate about using their gifts to serve a Christ-centered mission.
Responsibilities:
Social Media & Content Management
- Oversee and manage all BCS social media platforms, including planning, posting, and engagement.
- Create and execute content strategies that highlight student life, academics, athletics, and school culture.
- Capture real-time content during school days, events, and after-school activities.
- Monitor trends and recommend creative ways to increase reach and engagement.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Capture and produce high-quality photo and video content across campus (Preschool–12th grade).
- Tell compelling stories that reflect the mission and values of BCS.
- Assist in shooting and editing video content for marketing, storytelling, and internal use.
- Contribute creative direction and ideas for campaigns, communications, and brand storytelling.
Graphic Design & Visual Communication
- Design graphics for internal and external communication needs (social media, email, print, web).
- Ensure brand consistency across all visual materials.
- Support marketing initiatives with creative assets aligned to school messaging and campaigns.
Communications & Campaign Execution
- Assist in the development and production of school communications including: The Roar, The Mane Stream, and other internal and external communications.
- Execute content for multiple platforms including social media, website, email, and print.
- Collaborate with departments to support communication and marketing needs for events, programs, and initiatives.
Collaboration & Project Management
- Work closely with the Director of Community Engagement and school leadership on marketing, media, and communications strategy.
- Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, and staff to gather content and execute projects.
- Serve on the Advancement Committee to support school-wide initiatives and campaigns.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Maintain organized workflows and ensure timely, high-quality project completion.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in social media management, content creation, or marketing preferred.
- Strong graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or equivalent).
- Video production and editing experience (Adobe Premiere or equivalent).
- Basic photography skills with the ability to capture high-quality images.
- Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker with a strong eye for storytelling and branding.
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn, grow, and take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Availability required for after-school and occasional weekend events
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout the campus and attend various events and activities.
- Ability to operate camera and media equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of equipment up to 25 pounds.
